In order to build my plot my location ideas are mainly centred around school, these locations include hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, canteen, fields, teachers offices, library and a house party setting. Throughout my trailer my characters will be exploring these parts of the school in almost complete darkness (some even in complete darkness) which creates a much sinister and terrifying feel when combined with the abandoned feel to these school locations.
These locations connote the overall setting of a secondary school and additionally their lifestyle (house parties for instance). Together these locations will communicate and appeal to my ideal target audience of 16-25 year olds.
The mise-en-scene of these locations will also introduce conventional features of thrillers, mirrors for example will be present in the schools bathrooms.
In order to be able to film in my desired locations I will need permission to do so. I will of course be able to use my own school for several of these locations but I may have issues with getting permission to film in the library, may even have to consider choosing an alternative locations for the library.
